The Three Worst Words
When strung together, the three worst words in the English language are:
You made me....
Usually these words are followed by words like: 'feel,' 'do,' 'lose,' etc.
But it's just as bad when you follow these three words with positive endings like: 'love,' 'happy,' 'understand,' etc.
No one makes you do or feel anything. Not really.
These three words should be replaced by:
I choose to...
Taking responsibility for your actions, your feelings, and your successes and failures will lead to a higher degree of accomplishment and the sustainability of such accomplishments.
"I choose to be stronger." "I choose to become leaner." "I choose to become healthy."
These are far more powerful ways of expressing your desires and making them come true.
And as a bonus thought, if your thinking about becoming stronger, leaner and healthier, stop deciding and choose.
Big difference.

Nice point there. I just want to tell you thank you for doing what you're doing. I've started lifting several times in the past but suffered from extreme soreness (even when starting slow) and would get bogged down in exams, etc. I never had the right guidance and had trouble getting good advice for my situation from personal trainers since the ones I knew just wanted to help the girls or the other muscleheads. Your program is the one I've been able to stick with for just over three months now and the results have been amazing, with one workout every five days. In combination with doing the Protein Power diet, I've been doing slow burn since January 24--My starting curl (on machine, both arms) was 80, now it's 125. My starting leg press was 110, now it's 355. I went from skinny (ectomorph) to fat in my 20s and suffered from a bad self-image. I was always the kid picked last in gym class and had several physical issues that made fitness less than fun for me. Your program in particular has changed that for me and I'm finally glad to wear t-shirts outside in the summer. I've gone down over 2 inches in my waist and have lost fat but not muscle mass; I've gained muscle mass and now I have visible chest muscles for the first time in my life. My outlook on things has really changed and I am noticeably fitter and happier. I wish I had had your plan years ago but those days are gone. The amazing thing is that in addition to eating adequate protein, I'm resting more than ever before in an exercise program and gaining more muscle. Even if there is some time limitation to the results I'm getting, I've never experienced this before. So thank you Fred Hahn, for putting all of this together. While I'm choosing to follow your program, the specifics of your program are right for me and have caused the greatest transformation in my body that I've ever seen. Some day when I can come to NY, I'll try to thank you in person and show you the before and after photos.
