Colpo is a low-budget ranting psycho, 'nuff said.

Hi, I was just about to order Colpo's book with a title like "The Fat Bible" when I decided to surf a bit to find out more about Colpo, and I arrived here.

Having read your article end to end, I would like to thank you most sincerely for saving me (1) money and (2) lots of time, and (3) hope, as I will not be buying this book now.
Instead, I'll fill my fridge with decent natural food & take time out to cook regular meals. As for exercise, there's a little swimming pool downstairs and a tiny exercise area I should use more often (I can't afford gym sessions like I used to, even though I love the machines), but my very bored dog who misses proper walks could be a good substitute.
Thanks again - your careful demolition of this self-styled guru was far more persuasive than any kind of rant or put-down.

That's 5'11 and ONE/HALF" Fred! Oh, and sorry about calling you "Fred Kahn", must have been before my coffee kicked in.

I do agree that Anthony Colpo can be very acidic with his commentary and arguments. That being said, I still think his Cholesterol Con book was very well done. I also wrote a little critique about his crusade against the Metabolic Advantage. I really wish he would tone it down. I do enjoy his writing style at times. Hey, he can be funny. I just wish he would remember the old saying: “You get more flies with honey than with vinegar.”

And don't forget how much weight you've lost! 220 down to 185 at a height of 5' 11" - Good for you Fritz!

I'm the one who commented on Slow Burn on Anthony's site-I hope you don't mind if I use your comments section as a means for letting AC know that I am still making progress via Slow Burn, I visit Fred's studio once a week, and according to their meticulously recorded notes, I am still progressing at every exercise. Ok, I seem stuck at 500 pounds on the leg press, and progress looks slow on some of the others, but hey, I'm 51 years old and don't have a body builder's genes. I am getting stronger, and that's all I care about.

Just let me add that I NEVER do any cardio work. Once in awhile I like to test out the idea that cardio isnt needed by, you know, doing some cardio. Just last weekend I did a little personal triathlon, 30 minutes swimming, 30 cycling, 30 minutes running. I completed the whole thing with ease (although I was a little bit sore for a couple of days). During the run, I actually bumped up the speed a bit higher than I used to use when I did loads of cardio, cuz I was geting bored...

All this to say, Anthony, for the time being, I'll continue to ignore your advice to exhaust myself running and lifting weights for hours and hours every week. One Half an hour a week slow burn workout does me just fine.
